Things to see in Alexandria, Virginia

If you love history, then Alexandria Virginia is the vacation destination for you. With historical origins dating back to 1654, Virginia has a rich history and an even richer culture. Make sure that you take in Old Town Alexandria, visit the
boyhood home of Robert E. Lee, see where George Washington worshipped in Christ Church, do some shopping and see the historical buildings along King Street. With so much to do and see, you'll feel a part of the early days of our democracy.

While you are in Alexandria: be sure to stop by Mount Vernon: located 8 miles south of Old Town Alexandria, this plantation once occupied by George Washington spans 8,000 acres and the mansion boasts over 21 rooms. You can also visit the tombs of George and Martha Washington.
